Bleed

Bleed is the area that is trimmed off when cutting the product to the final size. It is used exclusively for projects where the background is other than white.

To create a bleed, you need to increase the page size during design by at least 4 mm on each axis.

Example: A4 size 210x297 mm, with bleed will be 214x301 mm.

Thanks to the use of bleed, the colored background in the final product reaches the edge (no white unprinted areas appear). In the case of hardcover covers, as well as binders and clipboards, a bleed of 20 mm is required.
